CANBERRA RAIDERS 1989 WORLD CUP CHALLENGE NRL RETRO JERSEY

This jersey marks one of the most significant moments in rugby league history, being the first official World Club Challenge. The 1989 Raiders, coached by Tim Sheens and captained by Mal Meninga, had made history just weeks earlier by becoming the first non-Sydney team to win the premiership, and the first side to claim the title from 4th place, defeating Balmain in the Grand Final. They then travelled to England to take on British champions Widnes in what became the first officially recognised World Club Challenge, played at Old Trafford on 4 October 1989.

The retro replica faithfully recreates the strip worn that night in Manchester, featuring the Raiders' classic green, white and red colourway, a V-neck collar, 3/4 sleeves, patch embroidered logos and a knitted 65% cotton construction that nails the authentic feel of the era.
