BRISBANE BRONCOS 2026 NRL MENS INDIGENOUS JERSEY
'One Journey to The Other'
Designed by Ladda Kaewhanam, a proud Whadjuk Noongar and Wongi young woman, and student from the Beyond the Broncos Indigenous mentoring program.
At its heart, this artwork is about family, identity and belonging. It reflects the values of love, respect, resilience and togetherness - qualities that strengthen communities and inspire us to keep moving forward.
The story also mirrors the journey of the Brisbane Broncos. Every player arrives from a different home and community, but together they become one team, united by shared values, purpose and culture.
For the artist, this piece is deeply personal. It represents her journey as a proud First Nations woman and storyteller, honouring her family, her ancestors and the world's oldest living culture while encouraging the next generation to embrace their identity and believe in their own journey.
The Dots
Represents the ancestors and their tracks as we follow into their footsteps. They symbolise their guidance and protection, reminding us to honour their legacy as they watch over us and reminding us of where we come from.
The Sleeves
The sleeves bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as one. They symbolise unity, shared strength and the power that comes from standing together.
The background of the artwork stands for the waterways, symbolising the deep connection we have with the sea.
The water is not only a source of life and sustenance but also a pathway of travel, trade, and culture connections. It reflects the strong bond between people and the ocean, showing how the waterways carry stories, tradition, and identities through generation.
